Our History
Our history is, above all, the story of God's faithfulness. It began in Aveiro in the year 2000, under the name Nova Aliança and with the conviction that God wanted to reach this land. The name changed along the way; the calling never did.
The Nova Aliança era

God plants a church in Aveiro
A church is born in Aveiro under the name Nova Aliança. From the very first day the vision is the same one that still drives us today: to win lives for Christ, establish them in the faith, disciple them and send them out.

2004
A Casa de Paz in Marinha Grande
The story of Marinha Grande does not begin in a building, but in a Casa de Paz - a Family Group, as we called it at the time.

2005
Viseu starts walking with us
The church in Viseu comes under Aveiro as its base, and the two cities begin to walk as one house.

Marinha Grande becomes a church
Five years on, that family group becomes a church. Marinha Grande becomes the third city with a congregation.

A Casa de Paz in Samora Correia
A Casa de Paz opens in Samora Correia, still before the name change that would come in May.
The Igreja Vida era

A new season, the same calling
Fourteen years later, on the very day it had all begun, the church enters a new season and takes the name Igreja Vida in all three cities. The name changes; the community, the leadership and the faith remain the same.

October 2015
Samora Correia becomes a church
A year and a half later, that Casa de Paz becomes a congregation.

February 2016
Under apostolic covering
The church comes under the covering of El Rey Jesús International Ministry in Miami, Florida - a global apostolic family we have walked with ever since.

The house where we meet today
The church in Aveiro moves into the premises where it meets today.

2019 - 2021
Porto joins the family
Igreja Evangélica de Aldoar, in Porto, joins us under covering. In March 2021 it takes on the name Igreja Vida, while keeping its autonomy.

June 2023
A Casa de Paz in Chaves
The same story begins again in the north: a home opened in Chaves.

4 October 2025
Chaves becomes a church
A little over two years later, the Chaves congregation is inaugurated - the sixth city in this family.

Today
One family in many cities
Six campuses, Casas de Paz open in every one of them, and a door that is always open online. That is how three of these congregations began - in a home. What God started with a few people in Aveiro continues to reach lives.
What about Nova Aliança?
If you knew this church as Nova Aliança, you are in the right place: it is the same church, the same leadership and the same faith, under a new name since 2014. The change applied only to the church in Aveiro and the congregations in Viseu and Marinha Grande - Nova Aliança Igreja Cristã in Lisbon is a different entity and still exists.
